Married service members across the board acknowledge that their spouses carry a heavy burden at home when they are deployed – and while the service member receives the accolades, gifts and care packages, the spouse's sacrifice is often forgotten.

The month of May marks National Military Appreciation Month. Help us honor and salute military spouses on Friday May 7^th, 2010 the official "Military Spouse Appreciation Day," by leaving a flower on military spouses’ doorsteps, mailing them a paper flower made by your children or school, or emailing them a virtual flower.

Here's how to JOIN US:

1. Click here to download the PDF Flower image, print it out, and make as many copies as you’ll need. Have your children, classroom, church small groups or business associates color the picture. In the tradition of "May Day", determine who you want to send this to either through E-mail (you’ll have to scan it once you’ve colored it in), snail mail (which people love getting letters), or tape it to your recipient’s front door anonymously.

2. Click here to open and send the "We Appreciate You" Flower Card; if you haven't got time to color and scan, download this PDF and attach it to your outgoing email to a military spouse. It won't be anonymous, but that's okay – they'll appreciate the thought!

3. Share Operation Pedal Power with your friends who may want to participate in this activity with you – just copy the URL link above and forward to your email addresses from your personal email.
